Congressman John Shimkus is leaving DC and is ready to come back home.
There seems to be an enormous disconnect between the talking heads, the pollsters, and the American people.
"The coastal elites don't understand flyover country," he said. "We should have thought the polls were going to be wrong since they were wrong four years ago."
He credits the seat pickups in the House to the people who turned out to vote for Trump.
"The president gets a lot of credit," he said. "We picked up a seat in the city of Chicago."
