The COVID Recession - Worse for Women

ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMOX) -- Many economists are saying the COVID recession has erased all gains made by women in the workforce in the last decade. Labor figures show that women have been disproportionately impacted.

Some women have lost their jobs, others have stepped back to care for family needs. That not only impacts women, but their families' economic stability as well.

The hit to women's careers could hamper this nation's economic recovery when the pandemic is over.

In a four-part series airing this week on KMOX and available on KMOX.com, Reporter Megan Lynch looks at the job losses and tough choices women are facing during the pandemic and whether they'll be able to recover in their lifetime.
