In case you hadn't heard, Jim Harbaugh is winless against Ohio State through five seasons at Michigan. It's the biggest barrier between the Wolverines and where they want to go.
This isn't lost on Harbaugh.
"Yeah, we gotta beat Ohio State," he said Wednesday during an interview with Mike Tirico on NBC Sports' 'Lunch Talk Live.' "Nothing makes us angrier than that, or me. That’s what we’re working toward every day. We’ve beaten everybody else, but we haven’t beaten them.
"And that’s what we have to do: beat them, win a (Big Ten) championship, get ourselves in the playoffs, win a national championship."
The Wolverines were a couple inches away from beating the Buckeyes in 2016, a win that would have vaulted them into the Big Ten championship -- and possibly the College Football Playoff. And they entered The Game in 2018 with the same opportunity.
Flip those results, and the arch of Harbaugh's tenure looks much different today.
"We’re a high-drive team," he said. "We’re driving toward success and want to put it over the top. Just been kind of on the outside of the playoffs, haven’t gotten in, and want to push that over the top. That’s our mission."
