The picks are rolling in, and the Lions keep taking Jeffrey Okudah.

The latest expert to mock the Ohio State cornerback to Detroit was Mel Kiper in his mock draft 3.0 on Tuesday. This comes on the heels of the Lions trading Darius Slay to the Eagles last week as part of a defensive makeover. Okudah could team up with recent signee Desmond Trufant to form a shutdown duo in Detroit's secondary.
At least this much is clear: Okudah will be on the board at No. 3. Some analysts think the Lions will trade down and take him. Others think they'll stand pat and take him. Place Kiper in the latter camp, for now:
“The Lions’ best-case scenario with this pick? Field offers for teams trying to trade up to draft Tua Tagovailoa -- the Dolphins (Nos. 5, 18 and 26 picks) and Chargers (No. 6 pick) make the most sense -- and still land Okudah. That would give them extra premium draft picks and the top corner in the class to replace Darius Slay and pair with free-agent signing Desmond Trufant. After a 3-12-1 season, general manager Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia need wins now, and the additions of Jamie Collins, Danny Shelton and Nick Williams will help their defense immediately.”

There's a lot to like about Okudah. He has unique length and excellent ball skills. He looks like the rare corner who could make an immediate impact in the NFL. That will appeal to Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia in a make-or-break season.

And there's even more to like about Okudah if the Lions can draft him and add more picks in the process. The Dolphins seem like the most likely trade partner, but keep an eye on the Chargers and the Raiders.
