ATLANTA (KMOX) -- Coca-Cola is facing critical backlash after images released by an internal whistleblower seem to show anti-white rhetoric seen on training materials on LinkedIn.
In a tweet, Karlyn Borysenko shared images from an internal whistleblower showing slides from the company's racism training. One of the slides instructs viewers to be "less white, less arrogant, less certain, less defensive, less ignorant and more humble."
The images show parts of the training titled, "Confronting Racism. Understanding what it means to be white. Challenging what it means to be racist."
A spokesperson for Coca-Cola confirmed that the statements in question are part of a global "learning plan to help build an inclusive workplace," but also stated that the images tweeted were from a learning video available via LinkedIn and are "not part of the company's curriculum."
The training also claims that the effort to be less white has to start early, as children as young as three are already taught that their white race makes them inherently superior.
“In the U.S. and other Western nations, white people are socialized to feel that they are inherently superior because they are white,” the slide reads. “Research shows that by age 3 to 4, children understand that it is better to be white.”
Following the nationwide unrest related to the killing of George Floyd, corporations across the nation ramped up efforts to tackle racism, adopting new strategies and training for their employees.
