Tupac Shakur died after being fatally shot in 1996 while driving in Las Vegas. Nearly a quarter of a century later Democratic Vice Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris named him the best rapper alive during an interview with the NAACP’s virtual convention.

The math doesn’t add up, but it’s a pretty funny gaffe.

Commentator Angela Rye asked Harris who she believed is the best rapper alive. “Tupac,” Harris replied. She quickly tried to reverse course. “But not alive,” she said. “I know, I keep doing that.” She then continued: “Who would I say? I mean, there’s so many. I mean, you know… there are some I would not mention right now because they should stay in their lane.”

For some music fans it exposed a high power politician’s lack of music knowledge, while others took the conspiracy bait. No one has been charged with the murder of Shakur, prompting many to believe foul play or something ethereal.

The fan reaction was mixed, to say the least…
