Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns announced Friday evening that he has tested positive for COVID-19:

Towns, the former No. 1 overall pick, revealed last month that seven of his family members, including his mother, have passed away due to the virus.

The Timberwolves were scheduled to play the Memphis Grizzles this evening, a game that has since been postponed.

The CDC says that more than 335,000 Americans have been killed from COVID-19 or complications from the virus.
