The FBI has obtained intelligence that pro-Trump protests at all 50 state Capitols this Sunday, January 17th could lead to violence. Armed protests by citizens who support outgoing President Donald Trump have been organized across the country. Here in Colorado, both Colorado State Patrol (who handle security at the state Capitol) and the Denver Police Department have been preparing for these protests. Neither the Colorado State Patrol nor Denver police have given any indication of what they will do to make sure that the protests are peaceful because of security issues. The Colorado State Patrol said in a statement, "We have been monitoring events on the national level and will continue to monitor for possible events in Colorado. We support all those who plan to peaceably assemble in order to exercise their first amendment rights," the statement read, in part.
