For the past several decades, the Kardashian family has been known for throwing extravagant Christmas Eve parties.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Khloé Kardashian announced that the holiday would be very different for her family this year, People reports.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star, whose family has been hosting their annual party with A-list celebrities since 1978, told a fan on Twitter the December 24th extravaganza is canceled this year due to the global outbreak.
“@khloekardashian okay Khloé u doing the annual Kardashian’s Christmas party this year,” the fan asked.
Khloé responded, “The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA. So we decided that we’re not doing a Christmas Eve party this year. It’s the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978 I believe. Health and safety first though! Taking this pandemic seriously is a must.”
Another fan asked about whether or not the Kardashian family will be taking their official Christmas card photo.
“We have not done anything. No Christmas photos and no Christmas Eve party this year. Covid has taken over,” the mother-of-one tweeted.
As for remaining safe, earlier this year it was revealed that Khloe tested positive for COVID-19.
In the trailer for “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” the 36-year-old is seen disclosing the news in a hoarse voice.
“Just found out that I do have corona,” Khloe said. “I have been in my room. It’s gonna be fine, but it was really bad for a couple days.”
The reality star shared her COVID-19 symptoms, which included vomiting, coughing, shaking, hot and cold flashes, as well as a headache she said.
While the episode was fimed months ago, she has since recovered.
