Quarantine has been tough on people for many different reasons, but for single people living alone, the main frustration seems to be coming from a lack of sexual interactions. According to a recent survey done in the UK, six out of ten people asked claim they have not been having sex during lockdown. Now, those numbers could be on the rise as a new law may prevent people from interacting with others.
The new regulations will prevent those in the UK from interacting with others in public that live in a different home. The law states, “No person may participate in a gathering which takes place in a public or private place indoors, and consists of two or more persons.” While sex isn’t clearly stated in the law, the new rule will make it difficult for one to interact with someone from a different household.
This law comes as a recent study found 39.9 percent of adults in the UK have been “sexually active” during lockdown. While the new law is set to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, it definitely won’t help many social lives. Singles may just have to find a way around the law in order to end the dry spell.
