Will Ferrell has had plenty of success throughout his career. From Saturday Night Live, to starring in movies and eventually producing films and shorts for the big screen and the internet, it seems everything the comedian puts his name on ends with praise. Now, Ferrell has found success in the music industry as well, as a song from his latest Netflix film landed on a billboard songs chart.
‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga,’ starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams recently premiered on Netflix, and while it won’t likely be receiving many film accolades, other than fan praise, it appears the film has helped Will Ferrell find success in the music industry. His song from the film, ‘Husavik’ debuted at number 16 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart. The song had over 8,000 download sales in its first week of release.
Along with Ferrell’s song, the rest of the movie soundtrack earned the number 5 spot on Billboard’s Soundtrack chart. The song was co-written by Fat Max Gsus, Savan Kotecha and Rickard Goransson; the guitarist for Carolina Liar. While it may not be his main profession, Will Ferrell can now claim to be a successful musician as well.
