This is the event I've been dreaming about.
Finally something that combines my only two talents: drinking and spelling. As mentioned many times before, I'm a dork. So, yes, I competed in our sixth grade spelling bee at Butler Elementary in Arlington. I came in second place, losing to Arvind Jairam who was a FIFTH-grader who got bumped up to the next grade level. Don't worry, I'm waaaay over it these days.
My friends constantly ask me how to spell things when they're drafting texts, and I come through about 99% of the time. I'm also good at beer. I come through about 99% of the time imbibing as well. So, when I saw this post that Wheelhouse would be kicking off a weekly adults-only spelling bee, I knew what I had to do. Alert all my friends and sign up. The event will take place Fridays from 9-11pm on May 3, 10, 17 and 24th. Each weekly winner will receive a $100 gift card for Wheelhouse. On May 31st, the five finalists will compete for a $500 grand prize dinner.
Enter on their website, and bring friends to cheer you on. See you soon!
