30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto doesn't exactly live the same life as the rest of us. For example, he spent the last 12 days in the desert on a silent meditation trip, away from the information superhighways of society, completely isolating himself in an attempt to... well, who really knows what. Interesting byproduct of taking such a trip during this particular timeframe, the movie-cum-rockstar had literally no idea about the Coronavirus pandemic until today, upon his exit from the desert when he hopped back on his phone.
In a post to Twitter, Leto writes “We had no idea what was happening outside the facility. Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing — to say the least."
While things have certainly escalated quickly worldwide, with everything from major concert tours to the tiniest local dives shutting down and canceling all activities in a matter of days, one can only imagine the immense shock of walking into things at this point. Certain festivals like Coachella have already pushed back dates to the year's third quarter, while others like Lollapalooza have yet to even announce. We're also hearing the canceled touring cycle may affect planned album releases for many artists, as the entire music industry ecosystem feels it's affects.
While Jared Leto may be in a surprisingly solid position to quarantine at this point, others like rock legend Ozzy Osbourne are not so lucky, as he and Post Malone producer, Andrew Watt have shared that they've both tested positive for the virus. With an uncertain future ahead, check out Leto's full message below and be sure to say safe + respect all authority advisories. And remember that now, even Jared Leto is just like us, in it together.
