Wednesday evening, thousands of surfers gathered at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas to show solidarity in the Black Lives Matter movement.
They observed a moment of silence, spelled out the word "UNITY" with surfboards in the sand and then did a paddle out into the water to honor George Floyd.
“We’re here to be peaceful and we’re here to unify here for everybody and I think that’s key in this country. We need to remember who we are, we need to remember united we stand divided we fall,” said Justin Wilkenfeld, co-founder of Kindhumans.
