Because there are not enough vaccine doses, the vaccination site at Disneyland is temporarily shutting down.

The site supposed to get more Moderna shipments this week but the delivery has been delayed by the severe weather that's paralyzing distribution chains in Michigan and Massachusetts.

Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett tells KNX 1070 News this supply shortage will affect appointments well into next week.

"It will be closed through Monday. We hope to open back up on Tuesday but it is all dependent on whether or not we receive our allocation of Moderna vaccines on Monday. As soon as we are notified, at the county level, that more of the Moderna vaccines are arriving, we will be able to open up and reschedule those individuals," she says.

Those whose appointments were canceled will be notified individually.

As of now the large vaccination sites at Santa Ana College and Soka University are not affected because they administer the Pfizer vaccine.

Orange County just received 14,000 additional doses Thursday.

In the city of LA, its large scale vaccination sites are canceling appointments on Friday also due to the severe weather.
