Florence is Here in the Upstate

Heavy rains are expected throughout the day today and into Monday.  Windy conditions also continue.

Over the next 24 to 48 hours, stress on trees due to winds and soggy soil could cause them to topple, so you could still lose power, so be prepared.

By late today, most of the rain should be moving to our west.  Greenville County should get between 2-4 inches of rain total. Western North Carolina will get the most rain in our area, some places as much as 12 inches.

One death has been reported in the Upstate due to the effects of Florence.  It happened Friday night when a Union County woman who was driving hit a tree that had fallen in the road.
