2019 NBA Draft Betting Guide: Props, Odds, Best Bet

RADIO.COM

Even though the 2019-20 NBA title odds have dominated the betting conversation after the Pelicans shipped off Anthony Davis to the Lakers, wagering on the draft provides an enticing way to watch the four-hour event.

Duke product Zion Williamson is the obvious favorite to be selected first overall (-8000) by the Pelicans, and the Grizzlies will likely snag ex-Murray State guard Ja Morant with the following pick. While R.J. Barrett is expected to land with the Knicks, the remainder of the lottery selections — and beyond — is fairly wide-open.

Here are FanDuel Sportsbook’s 2019 NBA Draft prop bets, as well as my best bet.

Best Bet: White over 6.5

The 6-foot-5 point guard is a smooth scorer, thanks to his acceleration off the bounce and sound jumper, but his 18.8 percent turnover rate in his lone season at North Carolina hinders his ability to jump Darius Garland at their position. With the Pelicans nabbing Lonzo Ball in the Davis trade, they’d likely value Culver over Garland if they retain the fourth overall pick, bumping down White’s chances of having his name called within the first six selections.

Whether or not New Orleans trades the pick, the domino effect of the scenario shouldn’t affect White’s stock. Garland, Culver and Hunter represent bigger variables within that range.
