SAN FRANCISCO (95.7 The Game) -- In a rare interview, retired NBA forward David West, a two-time champ with the Golden State Warriors, was full of insights into his former team.
West, joining Matt Steinmetz and Daryle “The Guru” Johnson on "The Damon Bruce Show" on Thursday afternoon, commented on the report of a meningitis outbreak around the Warriors last season, which many had connected with West's comments about behind-the-scenes issues that threatened to derail the club.
West also brushed aside talk of rejoining a Warriors club that has a depleted frontline:
Steiny: What would you do if Bob Myers called in February and asked you to come back?
West: I would tell him I’m completely unprepared.
West explained how he would have put the clamps on the Kevin Durant-Draymond Green mess: “I thought the huddle was too loose. You’ve got to cut those things out in about three to five seconds. … My instinct is always to jump in between guys.”
West also predicted that Durant, a free agent this summer, will be back with the Warriors next season:
Oh, and he sees a three-peat on deck.
"Yeah. I'm picking them again," West said. "I'm picking them again."
