An easy choice in the Big Easy.
On the latest episode of RADIO.COM's "Big Time Basketball" podcast, Matt Steinmetz and Brian Scalabrine discuss the results of the NBA Draft Lottery, in which the New Orleans Pelicans won the rights to the No. 1 pick in next month's draft and the chance to select former Duke star Zion Williamson.
Williamson, they say, is a mix of LeBron James and Draymond Green. They also look at the big question hanging over the Pelicans: Should the franchise trade disgruntled superstar Anthony Davis?
“At the end of the day, I’ll tell you what, for New Orleans, it is a home run for their small-market team," Scalabrine said. "The interest there was lukewarm at best this year even after their great playoff run the year before. With Zion actually going there, if you trade Anthony Davis, things can turn around so quick in the NBA. New Orleans has to be excited about this.”
The episode also breaks down the Golden State Warriors' lead over the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals and dives into Kevin Durant’s rehab from a calf injury. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Toronto Raptors whiffed on a major opportunity in Game 1 against the Bucks -- but had the chance to even the series Friday night in Game 2.
