CLEVELAND, OH (92.3 THE FAN)– The Indians are trading right-hander Trevor Bauer to the Reds in a three-team deal that includes San Diego according to multiple reports.
Bauer was talking with teammates Mike Clevinger and Shane Bieber at his locker as the media entered the clubhouse on Tuesday night. His face was red and clearly something was going on, as Clevinger sat with Bauer for a long stretch, before hugging him.
The Indians' young trio is close, which is the harsh reality of the trade deadline. Bauer declined to talked to the media. He was clearly going through all of the emotions that come with a trade.
The Indians will reportedly receive outfielders Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes, third baseman Victor Nova and left-hander Logan Allen.
Cincinnati is sending prospect Taylor Trammell to San Diego.
Reyes entered Tuesday with a .253 batting average, 27 home runs and 46 RBI. Puig entered play on Tuesday with a .255 average, 22 home runs and 60 RBI.
The Indians made it known they wanted experienced, Major League-ready bats in exchange for Bauer and they got it.
