The guys who know a thing or two about taking a punch say “Creed 2” is a hit.
Real-life boxing big shots, such as Danny Jacobs, Terence Crawford and Roy Jones Jr., were in attendance for the New York premiere of “Creed 2.”
“Outside the Cage” host Ike Feldman and JR Roberts from “JR Sport Brief” were on the red carpet to catch up with these stars of the ring — as well as stars of the screen, including Michael B. Jordan — and get their reviews.
“It’s such a long history with the ‘Rocky’ movies and now ‘Creed,’ and to be a part of it in any way is a beautiful thing,” said Jones, the legendary former multi-division champion.
In “Creed 2,” the seventh and latest installment in the storied “Rocky” franchise, Sylvester Stallone reprises his role as an older Rocky Balboa training Adonis Creed, played by Jordan.
The latest film pits Adonis Creed against Vicktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), the son of “Rocky IV” villain Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). It is a “revenge fight” for Adonis, whose father, Apollo, was killed in the ring by Ivan Drago. The blockbuster opens in theaters Nov. 21.
