PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Dallas Mavericks owner and Pittsburgh native Mark Cuban tells KDKA Radio when sports resume, games could be played in empty arenas.
President Trump said over the weekend that sports might not resume until August or September but added he would like to see stadiums filled “sooner than later.”
While he didn’t discuss the current NBA season that is on hold, he hopes the players will be back on the court by September.
Cuban also said he will continue to pay all of his employees for as long as the pandemic lasts.
“I’m the luckiest guy in the world . . . I’ll keep on paying, said Cuban. “And I’m doing it for not just for the Mavs but for other companies as well, it’s just the right thing to do.”
While he hasn’t been directly affected by the coronavirus, Cuban says some of his employees have been infected and he knows of others that have tragically died.
Cuban added that he has been in his house the entire time and doesn’t plan to leave until it is safe.
