Two months after causing a stir on Instagram, Halle Berry is finally addressing her massive back tattoo.
Back in March, the Oscar winner shared a photo of her new ink that consisted of a giant vine with leaves blossoming from the sides that went from her neck to the small of her back.
She captioned the photo, “Who says I’m not a mermaid,” and lit the Internet on fire.
As many had guessed, it turns out, that tat is 100% fake.
The 52-year-old came clean about the thirst trap marking while on "The Late Late Show" with James Corden, reported Us Weekly.
“I am starting a new movie in a few months so I’m trying out different tattoos to see what will fit best for my character,” Berry explained to the nighttime host.
Turns out, this is not the last her followers will see of Berry’s faux permanent markings.
“You’ll see me in the months ahead in many different tattoos that I’m trying out,” she added. “And I’m discovering how long they will last, how much wear I would get out of one, so I know how much it’s all going to cost.”
So, fans should keep their eyes peeled to Berry’s Instagram to get a glimpse of some of her upcoming body art.
In the meantime, you can currently see a back tat-free Berry in "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum."
