Your breakfast has now become lunch!
IHOP is taking their signature item and throwing into the middle of a burger.
“Our pancakes and Steakburger had a baby!,” IHOP said on their website about the brand new Big IHOP Pancake Burger.
The latest creation features one of the chain’s world famous buttermilk pancake griddles betwixt two black angus beef patties, cheese, and bacon, which is all stacked under two brioche buns.
All that deliciousness can be yours for the price of $6.99 and 1310 calories. Fair!
The item is one of three new burgers that the chain is jokingly referring to as “pancakes.”
According to the press release, the Garlic Butter “Pancake” features Gilroy garlic butter, hickory-smoked bacon, white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo, while the Loaded Philly “Pancake” comes with sautéed onions and peppers and melted white cheddar and cheddar cheese sauce.
And just so there’s no confusion, the Big IHOP Pancake Burger is the only one of the three new menu additions that actually contains a pancake.
IHOP got the idea to refer to their new burgers as pancakes following the backlash from last year’s campaign which saw the chain temporarily change its name on social media to “IHOb” (International House of Burgers) to launch their steakburgers. At the time, many fans complained that IHOP should stay in the breakfast lane.
IHOP zoned in on the backlash in a promotional video for the new “pancakes.”
“Last year, the Internet told us to stick to pancakes. Well, we heard you…” the clip was captioned on IHOP’s Instagram page.
A woman in the video then shows off the three new burgers while continuing to refer to them as pancakes.
Whether you call it or a burger or a pancake, enjoy the limited-edition items while you can!
