‘Jeopardy!’ Shakeup: James Holzhauer’s Winning Streak Ends, Calls Out Tom Brady and Drake

By , RADIO.COM

Recent “Jeopardy!” champion James Holzhauer finally lost a round on Monday night’s episode after winning 32 rounds consecutively and garnering a total of $2,464,216.

But even though fans are hugely disappointed to see Holzhauer lose after coming within just $58,485 of record-holder Ken Jennings, the now-millionaire still has a sense of humor on the matter.

Holzhauer took to Twitter last night to make a Drake-related joke concerning his loss. “Knew I shouldn’t have invited @Drake to the @Jeopardy taping,” he writes.

Drake is getting roasted on the Internet recently, being blamed for the dramatic losses of some of the nation’s favorite sports teams in the past few weeks, just by being present for their games. Now, Holzhauer is holding him “responsible” for his loss, too.

The tweet came with its backlash, though. Not only had a clip of Hozhauer’s loss leaked on Sunday before the episode aired, but he tweeted his reaction only after the episode aired on the east coast – leaving west coast fans frustrated at the spoiler.

But Holzhauer wasn't done trolling his own loss on the Internet after the Drake comment. Highly involved in the Holzhauer wins was Tom Brady, who tweeted recently that a Holzhauer loss would result in him eating a diet-ruining strawberry on Instagram Live.

Holzhauer took to Twitter last night a second time, saying he was patiently awaiting the news of what Brady would consume for the world to see, considering the “Jeopardy!” champion’s loss.

Despite the final loss that shook fans everywhere, Holzhauer still has many feats to be proud of. Jennings’s $2,570,700 earnings in 2004 were amassed across 74 straight wins.

Holzhauer came extremely close to this total in just under half the number of rounds, making his average earnings much higher than that of Jennings.
