CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt admitted to a Rocky River police officer that he would fail an NFL drug test during a traffic stop last week according to video of the stop published Monday by TMZ.com.

Hunt was asked directly by the officer if he would fail the test to which he replied, “Yes sir. It’s the offseason. I’m sorry I was just having a good time.”

Hunt was pulled over Jan. 21 on Interstate 90 just east of Hilliard and was ultimately cited only for speeding.

The video shows that Hunt could’ve been cited for having an open container of vodka in a backpack as well as possession of marijuana.

According to an incident report, the officer placed Hunt in the back of his cruiser and performed a search of Hunt’s vehicle after smelling marijuana during the stop. Small amounts of marijuana were found in three locations of a backpack and seized by the officer according to that report.

“It’s my brother’s,” Hunt said according to the video.

In the video, the officer, who admitted he is a diehard Browns fan, could be heard explaining to Hunt he would not cite him for possession or the open container.

“Here’s what I’m going to do, I’m going to write you a traffic ticket and then I’ll just seize this stuff, okay? Fair enough?” the officer said. “I’m not going to write you a weed ticket either.”

The officer could be heard admonishing Hunt, “You had a good second part of the year. You don’t want to screw that up over some weed” to which Hunt replied, “I know.”

Hunt could be heard lamenting his off-the-field problems, including that he isn’t playing in the Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs this week.

“Officer, I’ve been through a lot, man,” Hunt said.

“You know what happened to me. I should be playing for a freaking Super Bowl. It hurts my soul. You don’t understand. [I’ve been] fighting a lot of s**t lately, man. It still hurts me to this day. I love Cleveland, I love the Browns, but you don’t understand. I’m just the worst person in the world sometimes and I don’t even do nothing. Try to help everybody, man.”
