The basketball academy co-owned by Kobe Bryant in SoCal got a name change this week.
The word "Mamba" in Mamba Sports Academy, based in Thousand Oaks, was retired.
The name will return to the "Sports Academy," according to an Associated Press story.
Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others died in a helicopter crash Jan. 26 on their way to a tournament at the academy.
Bryant and his daughter were given a farewell memorial at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles in February. Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's wife and widow, also filed a lawsuit against the helicopter company, Island Express, alleging negligence.
As recently as this past week, family of the pilot, Ara Zobayan, said Bryant knew the risks of flying in a helicopter.
