The claws came out for Matthew Perry.
The "Friends" star has jokingly responded after a report made fun of his scruffy appearance and said he had “long dirty fingernails.”
Earlier this week, Perry was spotted out in NYC after keeping a very low profile the last couple of years.
The 49-year-old was dressed casually in sweatpants and a t-shirt, which prompted the Daily Mail to label him “disheveled.” The publication also took issue with his “long dirty fingernails.”
Perry took it all in stride and clapped back by referencing his classic TV character Chandler Bing, reported E! News.
“I’m getting a manicure this morning. That’s okay right?” he tweeted. “I mean it says man right in the word.”
Friends fans were quick to pick up on the joke which harkened back the episode of "Friends" when Chandler got his nails done with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and ran into his ex, Janice (Maggie Wheeler).
"Manicure with Rachel ? Better not find Janice's nail," one user wrote.
Another added, "This is the BEST comeback. We all love and miss you!"
Perry’s candid appearance this week comes after he disclosed he was hospitalized for a gastrointestinal perforation last year.
“Three months in a hospital bed. Check," he tweeted last September.
While he didn’t elaborate on his medical status, it was revealed that "The Good Wife" star had undergone surgery for the issue and took three months to heal.
While Perry has recovered, he was missed at his former TV wife’s recent birthday party.
Last week, Courteney Cox celebrated turning 55 by having dinner with her female "Friends" costars, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow.
We’re still holding out hope for a full-blown reunion with the entire cast in the future.
