Carmelo Anthony was forced to play some defense this week.
The NBA star was recently photographed on a yacht in France sun-bathing next to a mysterious bikini-clad woman who was not his wife in photos published by the YBF.
Rumors began to spark that he was cheating on his wife, La La — whose birthday it was — with this woman on the yacht.
Anthony, 35, said that these allegations were “not cool” in a video statement to TMZ Sports on Wednesday, explaining the woman he was with his also married
“All them bloggers trying to put that out there, that s—t ain’t cool,” Anthony said. “That’s not cool at all. Let that family be they family, they married… The only reason I'm addressing this is because this is affecting my family now and you got me out here looking crazy."
TMZ Sports said Anthony told them the woman was on the yacht with the rest of her family, although he does not clearly state that in the video.
“Keep my family out of this,” he added. “I’m over here trying to do my business retreat, trying to have a good time, I’m on a boat with some friends. Them people are married, man. They ain’t got nothing to do with anything. Y’all exposing somebody’s wife, y’all exposing somebody’s kids…let them people live.”
The former Knicks star played in just 10 games in the NBA last season and is still looking for a new team to join. He has been married to La La since 2010 and the two have a 12-year-old son.
“I gotta deal with that with my son, I gotta deal with that with my wife,” he said. “Can’t let this one slide, because this s—t ain’t cool no more. Peace.”
