Every child deserves to have a birthday party, Paige Chenault believes- even those who are homeless.

The Texas mom and former wedding and event planner founded The Birthday Party Project, which throws celebrations at shelters for children who are less fortunate.

For the last seven years, more than a dozen cities have worked with the nonprofit to help to celebrate homeless children on their birthday. The organization has planned more than 3,000 parties across the country.

Chenault says she believes joy can change lives and having a happy community can change the world.
