NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Pat Sajak underwent "emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine," prompting the cancellation of Thursday's "Wheel of Fortune" taping -- but the show will go on, as Vanna White temporarily steps in as host, the show announced Friday.
White has never hosted the show before.
"Our taping on Thursday was canceled because host Pat Sajak underwent successful emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine," the show tweeted about the 73-year-old, who has hosted the show since 1982. "He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work. Taping resumed today as scheduled and Vanna White has stepped in as host."
The tweet included a photo of the iconic puzzle board with the message, "GET WELL SOON PAT!"
Sajak will be off the show for two weeks, TMZ reported.
