Prince Harry sent an epic birthday message to one of his biggest fans on her 99th birthday.
Daphne Dunne has met Harry three times over the years during his visits to Australia. So, when he and wife Meghan Markle were alerted it was her 99thbirthday on Friday, the royal couple didn’t hesitate to send her his best wishes.
"Dear Daphne,” began the note. "My wife and I send our warmest wishes to you on the occasion of your 99th birthday on Friday. We hope you have a wonderful celebration surrounded by family and friends and that you've managed to escape hospital. Congratulations on reaching this important and impressive milestone before your centenary year next year.”
Unfortunately, Daphne had to spend her birthday in the hospital, but her daughter, Michelle Haywood, said the note is helping get through her health issues.
"She’s still very unwell and I think, you know, if anything, the card they sent means so much," Haywood told Australia’s Today Show. "I think it will be the thing that gets her through."
After the letter was read to Daphne, the birthday girl responded: “That was nice.”
Interestingly, when Meghan first met Daphne last October she told her: "Hopefully next time we see you we’ll have our little with one with us."
The royal couple is busy getting ready for the arrival of their first child, due in a matter of weeks.
