BOSTON (WEEI.com) -- All of New England caught its collective breath when New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady briefly crumpled to the field to grab his left knee in the second half of Sunday’s shocking loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Making his weekly appearance on "Mut & Callahan" on Monday morning, Brady explained the equipment malfunction that led to that scary moment while acknowledging he’s battling a minor injury.
“I think my knee brace just grabbed it and it just got dug into the wrong spot,” Brady told the show. “There’s no concern.”
Though the CBS broadcast did a terrible job of showing what happened, CBS Boston’s Joe Giza tweeted a video of Brady beginning to jog off the field before collapsing to the turf and adjusting his brace. He began to signal for the trainers before apparently fixing the problem himself, rising to his feet and half jogging, half limping to the sidelines.
He remained in the game and was outstanding, throwing for three touchdowns and more than 350 yards.
Brady noted, “I’ve been dealing with a little injury” that required his knee to be “braced up.”
“It twisted the wrong way,” he said. “But like I said, I have zero concern. Zero.”
