NEW YORK (WFAN.com) -- WFAN's "Boomer and Gio" ran into New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway at an Entercom get-together Thursday night.

The hosts had an entertaining exchange with the Mets manager. Boomer Esiason, who was meeting Callaway for the first time, was in the midst of trying to get the scoop on Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz when his conversation ended rather abruptly. Gregg Giannotti let Callaway know how much he admired Callaway's unique laugh, which has been the subject of mockery on their show.

"Couldn't have been a nicer guy," Esiason said. "Knows what we do here. He totally gets it."

The hosts also learned that Mets rookie general manager Brodie Van Wagenen lives on regular Coca-Cola.
