NEW ORLEANS ( -- New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton always seems to find unique ways to motivate his players.

Payton had three armed guards bring $201,000 in cash into the Saints meeting room this week, with the Lombardi Trophy on top of the stack. Payton told the room that they could all have the cash and the trophy -- if they win three more games.

“If you saw that money in front of you, you would get excited to,” smiled defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins. “If we get it done, I need it in twenties all in a duffle bag delivered to my front door.”

The cash symbolizes the Saints' individual playoff bonuses if they win the Super Bowl. NFL players receive a $29,000 bonus for divisional playoff games and $54,000 for conference championship games. The Super Bowl champ receives an additional $118,000.

Payton used the same trick back in 2009, bringing $100,000 into the locker room. The Saints went on to win the Super Bowl.

The Saints host the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon. A win gets the Black & Gold one game closer to the big game in Atlanta, along with adding a little more change to their pocket.
