Zoo Welcomes Adorable Tiny Tortoises That Are Critical to Conservation

Conservationists are celebrating the arrival of two adorable golf ball-sized baby tortoises.

The siblings were born in the U.K.’s Chester Zoo to mom, Smoothsides and dad, Burt.

This species of radiated tortoise, which is native to Madagascar, is critically endangered due to hunting, poaching and illegal trading.

The little cuties are part of a breeding program aimed at saving the beautiful animals.

If all goes well, they can grow to 100  years old and be a half-a-meter in length .

We wish them and their caretakers the best of luck!
