From Bad Bunny to cartel “Kitty”: Benito is going to be on the upcoming season of Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico playing Arturo “Kitty” Paez, a member of the Narco Juniors gang.

According to Deadline, Bad Bunny will guest star on the crime drama as a member of the upper-class who falls in with the Narco Juniors gang, a group of wealthy young people who are drawn to the cartel lifestyle by the promise of drugs, money, and violence.

Narcos: Mexico is set in 1990s Mexico and follows the story of a drug war sparked by the fragmentation of a gang’s empire. Starring Diego Luna and Michael Peña, the show was originally envisioned to be the fourth season of the hit Netflix series Narcos, which was set in Colombia, but was later spun off into its own series.

Bad Bunny originally teased his upcoming role in Narcos: Mexico in a May interview with Rolling Stone in which he shared that after his surprise performance in the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show, he set off for Mexico to begin filming.

The show stopped production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the 26-year old musician kept busy in other ways. From becoming the first man to appear solo on the cover of Playboy aside from Hugh Hefner, to dropping surprise album “Las que no iban a salir” only months after releasing record-breaking “YHLQMDLG,” to a collaboration with Crocs that sold out in minutes, while the rest of the world came to a standstill, Bad Bunny showed no signs of slowing down.

This week, his new single “Dákiti” hit number one on Apple Music's Top 100 US list, Spotify's Global Top 200, and Billboard’s Global Excluding U.S. list, prompting him to post a video on Instagram where he asked Siri to play the number one song in the world before grooving to the beat of his collab with Jhay Cortez.

The song is currently at the number two spot on Billboard’s Global 200 list and number nine on the Hot 100 list.
