New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is expecting the NFL to adjust the start of free agency due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"The start of our league year, I think, which is due to be this Wednesday, free agency begins, that's gonna be, I think, pushed back," Payton told TVG.

Payton also said he expects the format of the NFL draft to change as a result of the virus.

"Like everyone else around the country, not only that, around the world, we're all making the necessary changes and really prioritizing what's most important — everyone's health and well-being," he said.

Live sporting events across the country have halted action due to the coronavirus outbreak, with at least three confirmed cases of players testing positive in the NBA.

As of Sunday morning, NFL free agency was still scheduled to start on time as planned.
