To celebrate what would have been Andy Warhol's 90th birthday, The Whitney in NYC threw patron's a surprise party for the iconic artist.

The party was complete with a 5-tiered cake inspired by his "flower" series, and balloons. It also marked the start of a new exhibit coming to the museum featuring Warhol's work.

“Andy Warhol — From A to B and Back Again” runs November 12, 2018 – March 31, 2019. It will show "his beginnings as a commercial illustrator in the 1950s, to his iconic Pop masterpieces of the early 1960s, to the experimental work in film and other mediums from the 1960s and 70s, to his innovative use of readymade abstraction and the painterly sublime in the 1980s."

The exhibition is set to be the largest exhibition at The Whitney since it moved to its new home.
