The diners, drive-ins and dives can wait -- Guy Fieri served up some food this week where it really matters.
The celebrity chef and TV personality surprised first responders in California with a warm home-cooked meal, showing his appreciation for their tireless efforts to save lives and homes from the wildfires devastating the state.
Fieri visited multiple staging areas in northern Butte County, where the Camp Fire is raging, with a feast of pulled pork and side dishes.
“In today’s tumultuous world, it’s amazing to see our firefighters, military, law enforcement and first responders come together to rescue our communities devastated by fire,” Fieri wrote on social media. “So many great people stepping up to take care of one another.”
The brave first responders shared their gratitude for Fieri's amazing gesture. The Butte County sheriff tweeted, “Thank you so much Guy for filling our bellies and lifting our spirits.”
Fieri lives in Santa Rosa, and this is not the first time he has cooked for wildfire evacuees.
The latest round of wildfires, the deadliest in the state’s history, have killed at least 42 people and destroyed thousands of homes.
