Slipknot fans are in for a treat. Frontman Corey Taylor's recent post to his Instagram with the caption "Back to work..." reveals that he is back in the studio working on Slipknot's sixth studio album.

Due sometime in summer 2019, the album will be a follow-up to the band's 2014 album .5: The Gray Chapter.

In October 2018, the band released their first new song "All out Life." Although quite heavy, the band said that the song isn't as dark or aggressive as the other songs they are about to put on the new record.
