Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters talked with comedian Whitney Cummings for her Good For You podcast and pushed back against her claim that Foo Fighters are a cool band. Grohl pointed to himself being 50 years old with grey hair, and every member of the band being a Dad before saying that he's never considered themselves cool.
“We’re totally Dad Rock.” the frontman said on Good For You. "First of all, we are all Dads, and you’re right, we’re a rock band."
“We’ve just never been hip or cool, we just really haven’t," Grohl continued. "I think that the reason why we’re still here is because we do kind of disconnect ourselves from the popular stuff that’s going on, but also because, what the f*** do we care? I just want to f***ing play music.”
The band's upcoming album is expected out in 2020 and they've already got several festival dates lined up for next year. In the meantime, Dave Grohl has also been spending some time on Sesame Street, helping Elmo and friends celebrate their 50th anniversary.
