We're certain nothing will get your heart racing today like this heartwarming surprise engagement!
Shaun Horstmann has been a dirt track racing aficionado for the last couple of years and wanted to include that love with his other love, his girlfriend Lindsey, when he popped the big question. So, he brought her out to the Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL. Since racing was a huge part of his life and his favorite thing to do, he knew that he wanted to propose in a way that involved racing.
After doing some sweet donuts around his soon-to-be-fiancee, Shaun got out of his car, got down on one knee and proposed to the cheers of the crowd. The incredible moment was captured in photos and on video by Kyle Cross Photography.
The proposal took weeks to plan, with Shaun conspiring with the race park so they would know what was going to happen. He had enlisted the help of the event manager, asking him to approach the couple asking if they would want to participate in a "promotional video." But in reality, they were just setting it up so Lindsey wouldn't think it was weird that there were cameras around.
The lovebirds, who have been together for a year now, then hopped in their carriage and rode away to their happily ever after.
What an epic way to start their race down the aisle!
