What do you do when you work at the happiest place on Earth but it's closed down due to the pandemic? Well, you get on a bike and bring the good cheer right to people’s front door!
Billy Flanigan has been working at Walt Disney World in Florida for 38 years as a performer and since the theme park has been closed since mid-March due to COVID-19, he was really missing performing for people. So what did he do? He grabbed his bike and began surprising friends at their homes.
"This is my way to be social and be safe at the same time," Flanigan told the Orlando Sentinel. "I ding-dong the doorbell, back up and do my song and dance."
So far the 60-year-old has biked more than 3000 miles and visited over 250 people.
Flanigan said he's not done with his tour and plans to still make it out to see more friends.
"It's just a short visit, a little song, it's silly," he said. "But I love to make people smile. If I can brighten someone's day, I want to do it."
