What Jason Aldean thought was the sound of a blown out speaker, ended up being gun shots that killed 58 people at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas last month. The country superstar is speaking out for the first time since the tragedy to explain the pure state of panic that surrounded him on stage.
Luckily, everyone with Aldean's band and crew were able to escape unharmed. After flying home to visit with family and friends, the singer appeared on Saturday Night Live to pay tribute to the victims before returning to Las Vegas.
According to TODAY, Aldean along with Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, and more performed at the Country Rising concert in Nashville November 12. The event raised more than $4 million to benefit victims of the Las Vegas massacre as well as hurricane relief efforts.
Feels surreal being back in Vegas today. Visiting some of the strongest people we have ever met... fighting the toughest battle of them all... for their lives. You have helped us try to begin the healing process by seeing the strength each one of you have. Thank you for today. We will never forget. #vegasstrong ----
