9-year-old Boy Battling Leukemia Becomes Honorary Police Officer

Bagpipes welcomed a very special new officer as he was sworn in to the force.

Nine-year-old Ethan Dixon is battling leukemia. He's always wanted to work in law enforcement and even has his own uniform.

When the word spread that he would become an honorary member of the Haymarket Police Department, hundreds of Virginia residents turned out to watch his ceremony.

The force is doing all to support the young sick boy- recently taking him out for ice cream on his birthday.

Locals also bought Ethan gifts and a vacation as he prepares for his upcoming chemotherapy treatments.
