This 93-year-old Auschwitz survivor just won her first beauty pageant. Tova Ringer beat out 12 other contestants for the annual “Miss Holocaust Survivor” contest in Israel.

Ringer lost her parents, four sisters and her grandmother during the genocide. But taking the crown, the former jeweler from Poland, now great-grandmother, says is very special.

The event honors the shrinking number, less than 200,000, of Holocaust survivors, who went on to live in Israel.

Although, some say the pageant is inappropriate in light of the deaths of 6,000,000 Jews at the hands of the Nazis.
