Bears Rescued From Zoo Kennels Move To Wildlife Sanctuaries

That was then, and this is “Ben the Bear” living his best life.

PETA rescued the animal from a North Carolina roadside zoo, where they say he was kept in a small, chain-linked fence kennel with a concrete floor, and brought him to a wildlife sanctuary in Northern California.

Unfortunately Ben’s story is not unique. Others bears like Lily and Fifi, have also endured unbearable living conditions.

These animals have all been transferred to new homes, where they can walk on grass and enjoy splashing in their own pools.

Over the last five years, PETA says they have helped to rescue more than 70 of these formerly neglected bears, who are now finally free to live where the belong in the great outdoors.
