For youngsters on their way to surgery, one hospital is swapping out riding in wheelchairs for driving their own electric cars.

Six-year-old patient Sophia Fagen test drove the new wheels at Leicester Royal Children's Hospital in the United Kingdom.

They put the pedal to metal and head into procedures with hopefully less stress, the hospital says.

Getting behind the wheel was a little tricky and scary, but also fun, Sophia said, which is just what the doctor ordered.
