This dog owes her life to a New Jersey fire department. Khaleesi survived being stuck in a drain pipe for almost 24 hours. Now the first responders, who saved her, are being honored

Crews had to cut across the pipe to get the miniature dachshund out. She had gotten caught six feet in to it.

PETA gave the first responders the “Compassionate Fire Department Award” for their work.

They commended the department for not giving up their efforts until the pup was returned safely to her family.
